Electrode Welding Robot System

  • Weldermate is developed in collaboration with the large industrial customer Elkem, which owns the IP rights on the Söderberg technology which is used by approx. 75% of the world’s ferro alloy melting plants
  • The automatic robot has a 3D machine vision, clamping ring, umbilical cord, is based on machine learning and operates at a fast-welding speed on the Söderberg Electrodes
  • MOMEK is the developer, patent holder, 100% owner of the product while Elkem Carbon is the distribution and sales partner leveraging their network and access as a supplier to the ovens using their Söderberg technology
  • Weldermate started commercial sale in 2024

Overview of the market potential and go-to-market strategy

Globally there is around 1,000 smelters where 75% of the smelters uses the Söderberg technology and thus represents the total addressable market for Weldermate

MOMEK Invest and Elkem have developed a concrete target list of 50 smelters in the Nordics / Europe representing high probability customers, including Elkem’s 16 smelters, which represents a high probability revenue potential over the next 5 years

Additional revenue expected from installation, aftermarket services and replacing sale as the installed base of Weldermate increases
