EPC contract
The contract includes detailed design, construction of buildings and equipment foundations, structural steel, piping and pipe supports, balance of mechanical equipment not directly procured by Blue Moon, and installation of equipment supplied by Blue Moon.
The award supports the development of the Nussir copper-silver-gold project and Blue Moon’s plan to advance the project towards full-scale construction and production in Q4 2027.
A Significant Project for MOMEK
The project represents a significant scope for MOMEK and is expected to continue through 2027. At peak activity, more than 100 people are expected to be engaged.
The work will be carried out as a collaboration between MOMEK Services, the contracting party, and MOMEK Civil. The project will draw on expertise across engineering, construction, mechanical installation, industrial piping and technical project execution.
The Nussir processing plant combines new construction with integration into existing infrastructure, requiring close coordination across several technical disciplines.
Strategic Industrial Development
The contract fits well with MOMEK’s strategic focus on larger EPC projects and the mining industry.
MOMEK considers the Nussir project to be of national importance for Norway and a significant contribution to electrification and the green transition. Copper is a critical material in electrical infrastructure, renewable energy systems and industrial development.
Blue Moon Metals has also announced important regulatory milestones for the project, including approval of the Mine Waste Management Plan, an amended discharge permit and approval of the updated mine operating plan.
According to Blue Moon, the project now holds all material permits for construction and operation.
MOMEK appreciates the trust shown by Blue Moon Metals and looks forward to contributing to this important industrial development. The company enters the project with a clear focus on delivering safely, efficiently and with high quality, supporting Blue Moon’s target of production start-up in Q4 2027.
