New Maintenance Contract with Boliden Secures Long-Term Activity for MOMEK

MOMEK has signed a new maintenance contract with BOLIDEN AB worth NOK 500 million. The four-year agreement, which includes options for extension, plays a key role in securing future operations and growth for the company.
– Mining has been a vital part of MOMEK’s business since 2016, when we first signed a contract with Boliden for the Aitik mine. Being trusted with another long-term agreement is a strong recognition of the quality our people deliver, says CEO Roger Skatland.
The work is handled by MOMEK’s Swedish subsidiary, MOMEK Momin, which is responsible for maintaining all major equipment at the Aitik site – a mine operating around the clock, all year long.
– As far as we know, this is the first time a workshop company has been continuously responsible for this type of work at Aitik over so many years. That says a lot about the trust we’ve built, Skatland adds.
Delivering Results Beyond Expectations
In addition to the core maintenance contract, MOMEK completed a major project in 2024 involving the construction of new pump stations at the Aitik mine. The work was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget – to the customer’s satisfaction.
– These kinds of results strengthen our relationships and lead to new opportunities, says Skatland.
MOMEK is also involved at Boliden’s Kristineberg mine in Malå municipality, with contracts totaling approximately NOK 50 million.
Order intake at the start of 2025 was higher than at the beginning of the previous year – giving the group a strong start to the new year.
